BIO EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL PRODUCTION

Our plantation includes new and centenarian olive trees and spans across the hilly area of Cariati, about 2 km from the blue Ionian coast. We believe that nature knows best and therefore we grow exclusively the local variety, native to Calabria, “Dolce di Rossano” in a non intensive cultivation.
The olive harvest is carried out the traditional way, manually picking the early green olives to guarantee the conservation of the organoleptic properties. The olives are then cold – extracted within 24 hours from the harvest and stored in stainless steel containers at a controlled temperature of 16-18°C until bottling. The result is a filtered, aromatic, low acidity oil that is yellow-gold in color, fine in texture, mild in taste, a bit fruity with a spicy edge. The “Dolce di Rossano” variety gives this oil a bitter undertone, which makes this olive oil ideal for semi-structured plates, fish, meat, lentils/bean soup and as a salad topping.

HEALTH FACTORS

Extra virgin olive oil is an excellent source of Vitamins E, D and K, as well as polyphenols and omega 3,6 and 9. The health benefits are numerous, especially for high polyphenols like the award winning “Dolce di Rossano” monovariety of Olio Venneri (380mg/kg). Olive oil can help reduce cholesterol, can be used as antioxidant and antiinflammatory, and can help maintain healthy bones and prevent a variety of ailments such as cardiovascular disease, clogged arteries, hair loss and dry skin.

PRODUCT INTEGRITY

We give specific emphasis to ensure that our olive oil maintains its nutritional characteristics intact. We use modern pressing facilities and store the product in stainless steel containers until bottling into a dark glass bottle that are finally transported in temperature controlled conditions. The characteristics of the oil are monitored by frequent lab testing to ensure that every batch lives up to our high quality standards.

DESIGN

The quality of our EVO oil goes hand in hand with a design that is cared for in every part, we have chosen a bottle that can further enhance its qualities by aiming for elegance and the label is also made with a fine natural paper of pure cellulose with a barrier treatment with vegetable oils and fats worked with hot gold details.
